@maestria/agent-plugins

@maestria/agent-plugins packages maestria’s agents, workflow commands, policy, and skills in one directly installable directory. Each host loads the resources it supports. Through the portable Agent Plugins v1 format, the package also exposes six Agent Skills: the handoff and iteration-limits utilities, generated from the global rules, and the create-pull-request, docs-update, diagnose, and plan methodology skills the rules tell agents to load.

  • Four specialists: adventurer, architect, builder, and reviewer, each embedding its complete role and the global policy. Adventurer handles reconnaissance and read-only diagnosis with the diagnose skill; architect handles decisions and phased plans with the plan skill; builder handles implementation and documentation.
  • Three workflow modes: fein (full route), sonar (research and plan, then stop), and blitz (smallest safe route).
  • Always-on policy and routing, on hosts that can load it.
  • Six skills: handoff, iteration-limits, create-pull-request, docs-update, diagnose, and plan, on every host.

Start with Installation, then see Usage for commands and dispatch.

Host Specialists Workflow modes Always-on policy Read-only roles
Claude Code 4 native 3 native commands (/maestria:fein and others) In the commands Write and Edit tools denied
Codex 4 native, via the companion CLI Mode keywords Managed block in global instructions (companion CLI) sandbox_mode = "read-only"
Cursor 4 native 3 commands Always-apply rule Declared, not enforced for plugin agents
Kimi Code 4 native 3 commands systemPromptPath to AGENTS.md Write and Edit tools denied
Devin 4 root profiles, local only Mode keywords Root AGENTS.md Prompt-level
ZCode 4 native 3 commands In the profiles and commands (no rules component) Write and Edit removed from subagent tools; shell remains
OMP 4 task profiles 3 commands Always-apply rule Prompt-level
Hermes None None Optional manual context Not applicable

Every host also gets the six skills. Codex marketplace installation supplies only the skills; the specialists and routing come from maestria install codex. Hermes supplies the skills, with optional manual context for routing.

OpenCode and Pi keep their separate native runtime packages. The compatibility matrix distinguishes documented resources, package validation, loader probes, and live runtime verification. See the official compatible clients list for portable format support; the table above describes maestria resources, not live verification.

Skill Purpose
handoff Transfer the outcome, constraints, evidence, blockers, and next step
iteration-limits Bound repair and review loops with explicit termination conditions
create-pull-request Draft or revise a pull request title and body
docs-update Keep documentation and changesets in step with a change
diagnose Trace a failure to its root cause before fixing
plan Write a phased plan with verification criteria

These skills live at skills/<name>/SKILL.md; handoff and iteration-limits are generated from the global rules, and create-pull-request, docs-update, diagnose, and plan are copied from maestria’s core methodology. Portable clients choose their invocation syntax and qualified names. Loading them does not register specialist agents, activate routing, or create workflow commands. Agent Plugins v1 standardizes skills and optional MCP configuration; its portable contract does not provide native subagent registration or declare native agents, commands, rules, or hooks. This package ships no MCP server.

Markdown hosts share one profile per role in agents/<role>.md and one command set in commands/. Profiles and commands contain their complete methodology, so they do not depend on role or global-rules skill preloads. OMP and Cursor keep their own rule files because their formats differ; Devin, Kimi Code, Codex, and Hermes share the root AGENTS.md. Host permissions, sandboxing, delegation, trust, and session lifecycle remain host controls. The package includes no executable runtime adapter, lifecycle hooks, recurring automations, or MCP server. Those components are intentionally absent; their absence does not mean the host lacks them.
